CNC Pin & Terminal Insertion

High-speed CNC insertion of through-hole pins and stamped terminals into PCB and plastic substrates, delivering accurate positioning and repeatable production at volume.

Precision Placement. Reliable Connection.

Total Precision provides CNC pin and terminal insertion for electrical, electronic and engineered plastic components requiring accurate, repeatable positioning.

Through-hole pins and stamped terminals can be inserted directly into PCB or plastic substrates using controlled CNC equipment. Automating this critical production stage supports consistent placement while reducing the variation associated with manual insertion.

The service can operate as an individual manufacturing process or form part of a wider production route incorporating plastic injection moulding, precision metal pressing, assembly, inspection and testing.

Automated Insertion Built for Production

CNC insertion provides a controlled method of positioning multiple pins or terminals accurately within a component, making it particularly valuable for electrical connectors and products that will progress into further assembly or testing.

Total Precision’s capabilities include the high-speed insertion of through-hole pins and stamped terminals into PCB and plastic substrates. Semi-automatic equipment also supports terminal insertion into coil formers.

By connecting insertion with other in-house manufacturing capabilities, Total Precision can manage several stages of a component’s production through one accountable partner - from the manufacture of the substrate or terminal through to insertion, assembly and final inspection.

Through-Hole
Pin Insertion

Total Precision provides high-speed CNC insertion of through-hole pins into PCB and plastic substrates. The equipment controls the placement of each pin, helping maintain consistency across components containing single or multiple connection points. Automated insertion is particularly valuable where accurate pin positioning is essential for subsequent electrical connection, assembly or product testing. It also reduces reliance on repetitive manual processes during ongoing production. CNC insertion can be integrated into a wider manufacturing route, allowing the substrate, inserted component and any subsequent assembly operations to be managed through one accountable production partner.

Stamped Terminal
Insertion

Stamped terminals can be inserted accurately into PCB and moulded plastic substrates using controlled CNC equipment. Where required, the terminals can form part of a connected manufacturing process involving Total Precision’s metal pressing and plastic injection moulding capabilities. This allows the individual parts and the insertion process to be coordinated around the finished component rather than treated as separate, disconnected operations. Bringing these capabilities together can simplify procurement, reduce external handling and provide greater continuity from individual terminal production through to the completed inserted component.

Plastic & PCB
Substrates

CNC pin and terminal insertion can be used with both plastic and printed circuit board substrates, providing flexibility across electrical, electronic and engineered component applications. Plastic substrates may be manufactured through Total Precision’s injection-moulding capability before moving into the insertion process. Pins or terminals are then positioned according to the component’s design and its connection requirements. Completed components can progress into further assembly, inspection or testing, creating a controlled production route from the initial substrate to a product prepared for the customer’s next manufacturing stage.

Semi-Automatic
Coil Formers

Total Precision’s insertion capability also includes semi-automatic terminal insertion for coil-former components. This process supports the controlled placement of terminals into the moulded former before it progresses into winding, electrical assembly or another subsequent production operation. Semi-automatic insertion combines operator oversight with equipment-controlled positioning. Customers can use this capability as a single production stage or combine it with plastic moulding, component preparation, assembly and testing as part of a broader turnkey manufacturing solution.
